TIPS # 1  DVD A   DVD Audio is  now here . Here are some of the facts about the format and the disc types that will become available

TIPS # 2 HDTV  comparisons    The vertical  picture resolution  comparison of the  vision  systems  by Russell  Storey

The  playback picture from  a normal  VCR  is transmitted  to you and displayed on your TV with 270 to  330 lines  resolution

The  playback picture from  Super VHS VCR  is transmitted  to you and displayed on your TV with 440 to 470 lines  resolution

The  playback picture from  a normal DVD player  is transmitted  to you and displayed on your TV with  480  to 500 max lines  resolution

The picture on a normal TV set  is transmitted  to you and displayed on your TV  with 650 lines resolution  this is why and off  air broadcast  on a good TV set looks sharper  than a DVD picture

The  playback picture from  a normal HDTV  is transmitted  to you and displayed on your  HDTV  TV with 1180 to 1220  lines  resolution you will be able to climb in the picture and eat the apple and see a frog sitting on a pebble under water in a  creek! with incredible clarity only normally seen with a good quality 35mm camera. This format has been my favorite broadcast system  since my first experience involved  with the first transmission of HDTV at the 1988  World Expo in  Brisbane at the Japanese pavilion  some 11 years ago its taken a long time for it to get here but it was worth the wait! .
