Artisan Model R1000 Subwoofer
The Artisan R1000 subwoofer speaker is capable of super fast tight bass which is dynamic and detailed with both music or DVD home theatre low frequency sound effects. The incredible depth of bass goes down to 18 hz in an enclosure of approximately 60 litres . An Extra long stroke 21mm Linear travel 308mm bass driver was employed set in the forward firing mode the treated paper pulp cone subwoofer is complemented by the 308mm rear mounted passive radiator to achieve low bass with out the air breathing distortion created in the port by a vented enclosure used at such low frequencies. The Enclosure is made from 33mm MDF board with 7 internal bracing ribs made from solid hardwood and interlocked into the side panels to reduce unwanted panel resonance . The Subwoofer Enclosure is further de coupled to the floor by 4 hand made and designed Aluminum ISO cones 48mm in height . A specially designed Audiophile stereo subwoofer amplifier handles the positive and negative half cycles of the signal to the XLS Subwoofer with speed and control and very low distortion of 3% at the on set of full power drive .At normal listening levels the distortion is less then 0.1% an incredible engineering achievement . The piano black gloss finish of the enclosure is painted 3times with 2 undercoats giving a mirror finish with depth . A rare grain cedar decorative wood panel is fitted to the right hand side of the heavy duty front grill.
